The cloud gaming future just got a major upgrade. NVIDIA has announced that GeForce NOW RTX 5080 power is coming to the Ultimate membership tier in September, delivering next-generation visuals, AI features, and unmatched performance — all at the same subscription price.

Blackwell RTX powers the cloud

The upgrade introduces NVIDIA’s Blackwell RTX architecture to GeForce NOW servers, giving users access to RTX 5080-class GPUs. These GPUs deliver a staggering 62 teraflops of compute performance, a 48GB frame buffer, more than 3x the performance of consoles, and 2.8x faster frame rates compared to the previous generation.

Gamers can expect:

  • 5K streaming at 120 fps with NVIDIA DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation.
  • Competitive cloud gaming with up to 360 fps at 1080p using NVIDIA Reflex.
  • Improved cinematic visuals with Cinematic Quality Streaming mode, featuring 4:4:4 chroma sampling, AI sharpening, and advanced AV1 encoding.
  • Expanded device support, including Steam Decks (90 fps), Lenovo Legion Go S handhelds (4K 120 fps), LG monitors (5K 120Hz), and LG TVs (4K 120Hz).

Install-to-Play doubles GeForce NOW’s catalog

A new feature called Install-to-Play expands the GeForce NOW library to nearly 4,500 titles, powered by NVIDIA’s NVMesh cloud storage technology. Members can install games directly in the cloud, mirroring a local PC experience.

This doubles the number of accessible games, with more than 2,200 Steam titles already opted in. Ultimate and Performance members also get 100GB of session storage, with optional persistent storage upgrades:

  • 200GB for $2.99/month
  • 500GB for $4.99/month
  • 1TB for $7.99/month

Games installed in persistent storage remain instantly playable at all times.

New game lineup for GeForce NOW RTX 5080

NVIDIA is also preparing an impressive lineup of blockbuster titles, optimized to take full advantage of GeForce NOW RTX 5080 performance. Among the highlights are:

  • Borderlands 4 – chaotic looter-shooter action returns with outrageous weapons and co-op gameplay.
  • Dying Light: The Beast – survival horror with open-world exploration, launching Sept. 19.
  • The Outer Worlds 2 – expanded colonies, alien planets, and Obsidian’s sharp RPG storytelling.
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – signature multiplayer, intense campaigns, and the next Zombies chapter.
  • Cinder City – futuristic tactical shooter set in post-apocalyptic Seoul.
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 – supernatural role-playing in Seattle’s underworld.
  • Hell Is Us – melee combat and mystery set in a conflict-ridden land.
  • Arc Raiders – squad-based co-op shooter against overwhelming mechanized threats.

In addition, Creative Assembly’s acclaimed Total War series joins GeForce NOW, including:

  • MEDIEVAL II – Definitive Edition
  • ATTILA
  • A Total War Saga: Troy
  • NAPOLEON – Definitive Edition
  • EMPIRE – Definitive Edition

GeForce NOW expands globally

This November, GeForce NOW launches in India through GFNA partner Brothers Picture, following its recent debut in Thailand. This expansion opens cloud gaming to millions more players around the world at no added cost.

Discord and Epic integration

NVIDIA is also partnering with Discord and Epic Games to integrate GeForce NOW into Discord. Players will be able to try games instantly with friends — no downloads, no installs, and no membership required. The feature debuts with Fortnite, allowing Discord’s massive user base to stream at up to 1440p 60 fps through a free GeForce NOW trial.

Future of cloud gaming with GeForce NOW RTX 5080

Ultimate memberships remain $19.99/month (or $199.99/year), with Performance memberships at $9.99/month. The GeForce NOW RTX 5080 upgrade ensures that gamers enjoy cutting-edge performance, higher visual fidelity, and instant access to the latest titles without upgrading their own hardware.

By combining Blackwell RTX power, Install-to-Play, global expansion, and blockbuster games, GeForce NOW is positioning itself as the future of cloud gaming.
