Tech Soft 3D joins AOUSD to enhance CAD interoperability and deepen its collaboration with NVIDIA. This strategic move aligns the company with the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD), a growing coalition shaping the future of open 3D standards.
By joining AOUSD, Tech Soft 3D strengthens its role in defining Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD). OpenUSD is the backbone of NVIDIA Omniverse and is becoming the global standard for scalable, interoperable 3D workflows.
Since 2022, NVIDIA has licensed HOOPS Exchange, Tech Soft 3D’s CAD data toolkit. This enabled developers to convert native CAD files into OpenUSD. Now, with the latest release of HOOPS Exchange, developers can export directly from over 30 CAD formats—including CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and STEP—to USD. As a result, they can seamlessly bring rich engineering data into any USD-compatible application.
This new export feature removes traditional barriers between CAD models and digital twin environments. Moreover, it empowers developers to work across NVIDIA Omniverse, visualization tools, and simulation platforms with high data fidelity.
USD is more than just a file format. It has become a critical enabler of interoperability across AI, simulation, and 3D collaboration tools. With HOOPS Exchange supporting direct USD export, Tech Soft 3D bridges the gap between engineering systems and scalable 3D ecosystems.
In addition, developers can now integrate design data with real-time physics, collaborative design reviews, and large-scale digital twins. These capabilities open new possibilities for industries like manufacturing, construction, and aerospace.
By joining AOUSD, Tech Soft 3D contributes to a wider mission—defining how next-generation 3D experiences are built. This partnership also reinforces the company’s commitment to open standards that improve compatibility and efficiency across software tools.
The enhanced support for OpenUSD also helps thousands of developers who use Tech Soft 3D’s technology. They can now connect more easily to NVIDIA Omniverse and the broader USD ecosystem, which continues to grow rapidly.
With OpenUSD emerging as the dominant standard for 3D content, having direct CAD-to-USD support is a major advantage. It allows engineers and developers to create immersive, high-fidelity experiences from the earliest stages of product design to deployment.
